The Company

YouTrain are a leading training provider of IT and Microsoft training. We are a Microsoft Learning Partner and Cisco Learning Partner. Working across Scotland and England, we work within both the public and private sector delivering Apprenticeship programmes in the following areas: IT, Digital Applications, Digital Marketing, Management, Business Administration and Customer Service. We pride ourselves on the quality and standard of our delivery and have a highly skilled and dedicated staff team.

Our business continues to grow. Our Head Office is located in the centre of Stirling and in addition we have offices in Glasgow, Inverness and Halifax, West Yorkshire. This is an exciting time where we are growing our operations in England and currently have a requirement for a Training Consultant/Assessor who will be responsible for the delivery of IT Apprenticeships.

The Role

The role involves working with learners in their workplace who might be complete beginners or already have IT experience, to help them achieve their IT qualification. You will work with your learners over a period of time, usually a year, and visit them regularly in their workplace to assess their competence in IT through observation and assessment of their progress against the recognised standards. In addition, as part of the Apprenticeship programme, you will also support candidates to undertake Functional Skills tests.

Programmes are delivered in customer premises therefore the role does involve daily travel, although some of the work with your learners is done remotely using our own e-portfolio to keep up-to-date with learner progression.

The role does offer flexibility in that Assessors manage their own diary and administration duties can be completed from home.

This is a full time role based on working a 37.5 hour week, Monday – Friday.

The Person

Essential skills and Qualities required:
You do NOT have to have previous training experience or be a qualified Assessor (although obviously it would help!), because we can teach you to become a qualified Assessor. What we are looking for is someone with the following:

  • A driving licence is essential

Desirable skills and Qualities:

  • Hold a relevant Assessor Qualification and have experience of Assessing IT Apprenticeships
  • Knowledge of the new standards

We are offering a competitive salary depending on experience and commission scheme. In addition, you will be entitled to participate in our profit related bonus scheme and have the following employee benefits: life insurance, healthcare plan, company mobile and laptop.
